Our Leadership Team
Dr. Henson, a resident of Monroe, Georgia, began her career as an English teacher in the Gwinnett County (GA) School District. She went on to work as a teacher and administrator in North Carolina, Florida, Massachusetts, Connecticut and California, holding a series of progressively responsible positions, including department chair, dean of curriculum and instruction, principal and regional director.
A consultant to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and a trainer and mentor for The New Teacher Project, Dr. Henson has provided a wide range of educational consulting services to traditional, charter and virtual schools.
A graduate of Western Carolina University with a bachelor's degree in English, Dr. Henson also holds a master's degree in school administration from Seton Hall University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She is a graduate of the Principals Executive Program of the James B. Hunt Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Henson also has attained certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
In her free time she enjoys tending flowers, antique shopping, and travel.
Ms. Stein started her career as a social science teacher in Cherokee County, Georgia and has worked in private, public, alternative and post-secondary school education for the past 15 years. During her career, she has served as Department Chair, Dean of Students, Program Director and Adjunct Professor. Ms. Stein started with GACHS as an advisor three years ago, moving into the role of Director of Agency Partnerships before assuming the Chief Academic Officer position.
A graduate of Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s in social science education and a master’s in secondary education, Ms. Stein also holds a gifted certification from North GA RESA.
In her free time, she enjoys Pinterest, tennis, beach vacations, and her three-year-old nephews.
