Not Accepting Enrollments

Dear GACHS parents and students,

After six years of successfully serving our students, we at Graduation Achievement Charter High School regretfully announce that we must close. The reason for the closure is the State Charter Schools Commission staff’s decision not to recommend our charter for renewal because we do not outperform the state average graduation rate and academic performance. We disagree strongly with this assessment and provided substantial documentation to show that in states with statutory protection for schools like ours that GACHS would be considered meeting or exceeding expectations. We are deeply sorry to have to close the school, but without state funding and a charter, it is impossible to continue operations past the end of the current school year.

Effective June 30, 2018, GACHS will cease operations statewide. Until the last day of school (June 15th at midnight), all students should attend class, whether at our centers or virtually, as normal. All student academic services will continue to be available to our students until the last day.

We understand that closing our school will be a tremendous inconvenience to the students and parents that we serve, and we are prepared to assist in any way we can during this transition. During this transition, GACHS will continue to serve its current students, holding its Spring 2018 Graduation on June 9, and will assist all undergraduates in finding a new school to call home. We are in contact with the local school systems where our centers operate, and the district offices there are expressing willingness to work with re-enrolling students.

We will be sending out more detailed information regarding the transition process shortly. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us at any time with any questions you may have. Students who need to return laptops loaned by GACHS, please contact our Registrar, Sharon Johnson at Registrar@gradgeorgia.com or 404-481-2375. For all other questions and concerns, please contact, Student Support at 844-776-8678 or StudentSupport@GradGeorgia.com.

We remain committed to providing our students with a quality education until the very end. Thank you again for making Graduation Achievement Charter High School your choice for earning your diploma.
